Eco-Friendly Concrete Release Oils From Adomast

Leading Building Chemicals manufacturer, Adomast, is increasing sales growth thanks to the success of its SAFELEASE water-based release agent for on-site concrete formwork. SAFELEASE uses the latest water soluble polymer technology to produce an environmentally friendly mould release emulsion that is virtually odourless and has low VOC content (Volatile Organic Compounds). The readily biodegradable WRAS approved product is a highly efficient alternative to mineral oil-based products and is suitable for use with white, coloured or standard OPC concrete finishes.

Bryan Smith, Commercial Director of Adomast says: "More and more contractors are using our environmentally friendly products, particularly on water related projects. One such contract is the Braid Burn Flood Prevention Scheme in Edinburgh.

"The £28m scheme comprises 14 projects that, when complete, will protect around 900 homes and businesses from flooding. Through our distributor, RFA-TECH, based in Bellshill near Glasgow, we are currently supplying SAFELEASE to main contractor Carillion Civil Engineering."

Mr Smith, who has recently joined Adomast from Tarmac where he held a similar role with their CMS Pozament operation, is charged with the task of driving forward the company’s growth. Bryan Smith adds: "Over the last few years Adomast has been progressively replacing old technology oil and solvent-based products with water-based technology and the building, construction and precast industry is now becoming more aware of the environmental and safety benefits that these products provide.

"We have a range of over 170 quality products for use by construction professionals and it’s vital to our success that we maintain a high standard of service and expand our distribution network to ensure full availability of products and technical support throughout the UK."

Adomast SAFELEASE is part of a complete range of environmentally safe mould release agents, surface retarders and concrete curing and sealing compounds.
