IDFSB Qualification Lifts Off
Derby College have recently become the first nationally recognised centre approved to offer the new GQA qualification, Installing Domestic Fascias, Soffits and Bargeboards (IDFSB).
More importantly, however, three candidates from Leicester have become the first people to undergo assessment and complete this qualification in the UK.
Mike Rock and his colleagues Martin Dougan and Darryl Castree, working for Harvey’s in Leicester, worked to a high standard at all times, demonstrating their knowledge and level of experience.
GQA Lead EV, Mick Clayton, attended an assessment session in Nailstone to observe the qualification being delivered and was impressed with both the candidates work and the delivery of the assessment by Derby College assessor, Andy Carrington.
Mike Rock informed GQA's Mick, that he welcomed the qualification stating that it was "long overdue" and he would recommend that any person who did their job correctly would benefit from this qualification.
Mike also added that he hoped that achievement of the qualification would help him and his colleagues in their future work and remove bad practice very often found within this industry.
