The winners were from ISG InteriorExterior, ISG Jackson, ISG Regions and ISG Pearce.
With five consecutive Gold Awards needed to win one Gold Medal, ISG's record number of awards is testimony to its high regard for, and commitment to, health and safety throughout the company.
In deciding the RoSPA awards, the independent, expert adjudication panel take a range of performance indicators into consideration. These include:
- Measures of occupational health and safety management 'input' such as, the level of development of systems and culture
- measures of health and safety management 'output' such as consistent application of risk control measures
- Measures of 'outcome' such as reductions in near misses, notifiable injuries, the number of days lost, accident and ill health costs etc
- Account is also taken of an entrant's enforcement record
Following tests by a strict independent adjudicating panel, the British Safety Council (BSC), awarded 14 ISG InteriorExterior projects the International Safety Award. Winners must have demonstrated good health and safety policies, plans and commitment to health and safety at the highest level, and have also improved the health and safety culture within their organisation. They must have detailed their health and safety personnel’s qualifications and provided information about significant advances they have made in health and safety for the year.
ISG's CEO David Lawther says of the awards: "The effectiveness of our health & safety management systems and the outstanding team effort from everyone at ISG and our supply chain, has ensured that ISG is a market leader in the provision of a safe working environment. These high-profile awards recognise everyone's hard work and commitment."
