Community Groups Find Out About The Future Of Energy

In an open day hosted by E.ON's Kingsnorth power station, community groups across Kent have had the chance to find out about the history - and future - of local energy.

At the event, local parish council members joined Action with Communities in Rural Kent, local community liaison police officers, a Community Responder and Hundred of Hoo school's community liaison officer.

The day included a tour of Kingsnorth and information about E.ON's future energy plans as well as an introduction the local environment that the Kingsnorth team helps to protect, including more than 200 species of birds.

Angie Fryer, Business Support team leader at Kingsnorth, said: "We're all incredibly passionate about the station and the wonderful environment around us in Hoo, so naturally we were thrilled to able to share with our colleagues more about what we do at Kingsnorth. Everyone was keen to help out and it was a real team effort.

"Over the years we've been a big part of the local community and it's fantastic to be able to say that many of the groups we work with have become good friends too. We're delighted that they came along and it was a fantastic day."
