VolkerHighways Scoops £100m In New Business

VolkerHighways, part of the Dutch-owned VolkerWessels group, has been awarded £100m in new Term Maintenance business it has been revealed.
The awards for new highway maintenance and lighting contracts with options to extend could increase the final value to approximately £160m.
The contracts have been awarded by three London boroughs - Haringey, Camden and Enfield - and by Transport for London.
Haringey Council has awarded VolkerHighways two four year contracts, with potential to extend a further four years to 2017. The two contracts, Highway Maintenance and Street Lighting have a probable spend totalling £10m per annum.
Camden Council has awarded a four year contract for highway maintenance, which can be extended to 2016, worth £5m per annum
Enfield Council has awarded a two year extension to the existing £15m annual highways contract.
Transport for London has awarded a one-year extension to an existing £3m annual civil engineering contract.
"We are delighted with these new contract wins. It indicates that, with a secured order book of £250m, we will be a major player in the Term Maintenance market in the years to come," said VolkerHighways Managing Director Peter Hyde.
"These new business wins are based on a solid record of delivery for our clients, and show that we have a reputation for quality, and that we deliver on time and to budget."
