Jungheinrich has announced the launch of a new tow tractor that is particularly suited to applications where loads need to be transported in tight spaces.
The new EZS 010 mini-tow tractor - a prototype of which was exhibited at Cemat 2008 - can tow a trailer weighing up to 1,000kg. It is available with a wide range of couplings, making the new tractor compatible with virtually any type of trailer or roll cage.
The Jungheinrich EZS 010 is considered particularly suitable for use in manufacturing sites, warehouses, retail outlets and hospitals - in fact, anywhere where small loads need to be moved short distances.
The new model is powered by a compact 24 V drive motor, while the latest generation of Jungheinrich AC technology guarantees powerful acceleration and optimum energy efficiency.
The tow tractor is designed to be comfortable for the operator throughout the course of his or her shift and controls are well-laid out and easy to operate. Clear colour coding and correspondingly shaped switches and buttons allow for intuitive operation and the mini-tow tractor features a newly developed tiller head, which can be easily adapted to meet each operator's individual ergonomic needs.
Oliver Rosenthal, Jungheinrich's Product Manager for Tow Tractors, said: "Our mini-two tractor allows a trailer to be effortlessly transported and manoeuvered. Thanks to its rigidly mounted tiller, the EZS 010 can turn on the spot which means that loads can be easily moved in the narrowest of spaces. With this mini-tow tractor we are now able to provide our customers with an effective means of support for activities that had previously been undertaken manually."
