Expansion Joints have taken the very prominent step to expand its consultancy business by taking on a warehouse and small manufacturing facility in Devon.
Set up in June 2008, after doing consultancy work for a number of well known construction companies on several major UK projects it soon became apparent that there was a strong demand for supply of products and quality after sales service. After some negotiation it has been agreed with the construction companies and the partners in the business to push forward with the development of this service.
With this in mind Mr Leighton Bird has joined us on the technical side to strengthen up the design, innovation and development of new products. His vast experiences over the past few years have involved working closely with clients, project managers and construction companies on special design and bespoke jointing systems. This new addition to the team will enable Expansion Joints to stride forward in its development.
Expansion Joints have made great progress recently, working with specialist suppliers of movement joints who manufacture units for certain joints for the car park, bridge joints (with movement capability from 25-165mm) and with specialist manufacturers of Fire proofing joints (which accommodate large movement, with gap sizes of 100mm plus and with large movement capabilities up to 50% of the gap width).
Expansion Joints have made great efforts to get the right installation companies on board. We believe there is no use in designing the perfect product and then having it fail due to poor installation.
Basically ''if it moves'' in construction we probably have a product to suit your requirements. If not then we can design and build it for you.

Expansion Joints Limited have designed and developed several of its own products but recognise that there are areas of Expansion Joint systems that we just cannot cover. With this in mind we have sourced several world class manufacturers that have products to cover these areas.
Expansion Joints Limited have taken the opportunity to become agents for these products in the UK and European Markets to bolster the comprehensive range of MOVEMENT, CONTROL and EXPANSION Joints, with the addition of waterproofing and fire proofing systems for the construction industry.
Even with all we have to offer in our standard range of products and services there will still be the requirement for one off’s, special or bespoke systems.
