Gaia Underfloor Heating
Whatever you need, we’re ready to design, supply and install
Here at Gaia, we specialise in the design, supply and installation of both wet (hydronic) and electric (dry) underfloor heating systems, as well as frost protection and ice and snow melting systems.
We have over 30 years’ experience of providing underfloor heating for residential, commercial and industrial properties and developments across the UK and Ireland.
Our proactive and professional team can advise and design the most suitable system for you – and provide valuable support from project planning to completion.
We’ve built lasting relationships with our clients and celebrate the success of the projects we deliver for them.
Wet Underfloor Heating
Wet (hydronic) underfloor heating involves a network of flexible pipes which are installed beneath the floor. Hot water circulates through the pipes to heat a room from the ground up.
The wet underfloor heating system can be connected to different heat sources, including an air-source or ground-source heat pump, a boiler or a solar hydronic heating system.
The pipes are connected to your heat source using a manifold – a central system allowing all the pipes to work together.
Our full Gaia system fits perfectly into screed, aluminium plates or grooved overlay. We also provide systems from top brands, including Polypipe, Emmeti, Omnie and Myson.
Electric Underfloor Heating
Electric (dry) underfloor heating systems involve a series of heating elements which are installed beneath or within flooring to warm a room from the ground up.
There are three main types of electric underfloor heating. Heating mats and foil heating mats are ideal for large, regular-shaped rooms.
Heating cables – which can be installed individually or embedded within decoupling membrane – are ideal for smaller, irregular-shaped spaces.
The most suitable electric system for your project will depend on a number of factors, including:
- room size
- insulation
- subfloor type
- flooring type
Frost Protection
Our frost protection and snow melting systems are used throughout the world, protecting to temperatures of -30°C.
We supply frost protection systems for pipes which are designed to prevent damage from ice as well as maintain the desired temperature within the hot water or fluid pipes.
With our ice and snow melting systems, roof, gutters, roads and pathways can be protected from harsh weather.
They protect from damage caused by frost, ice and snow and preventing the formation of icicles, as well as melt the snow or ice to create safe walking and driving areas.
Our frost protection systems are also used for vineyards to protect crops from the cold weather. Our heated cable system maintains warmth and prevents the formation of frost.
