Kingfisher Access Launch New IPAF Training Course Jan 2010

A new IPAF training course Push Around Vertical (PAV) will be offered by Kingfisher Access from January 2010.
IPAF has introduced this course in response to market developments and the need for appropriate training on this new type of machine. Push Around Verticals are essentially small, uncomplicated static vertical machines. However, unlike Static Verticals (IPAF category 1a), they have no mechanical drive and are physically pushed around.

“I expect the new course to be very popular with our customers on construction and maintenance sites who are using this type of equipment for low-level access work,” said George Reid, Managing Director Kingfisher Access. “This should clear up the issues our customers have with the current IPAF categories.”
The equipment covered includes models with no drive produced by companies such as Genie, JLG, Pop-Up, Power Tower, Upright and Youngman.

The Pav course is a half-day course that covers both theory and practice. Operators who are trained in the categories Static Vertical (1a), Mobile Vertical (3a) or Scissor Lift (old IPAF category SL) will also be able to use a Push Around Vertical (PAV) after being familiarised with the specific machine.
