Medium Bolts
The length of your bolt is measured from the ‘surface’ of the metal – in the case of countersunk bolts, that will be the top of its head. In other cases – for instance those of rounded heads - it may be from the base of the bolthead. Whatever the case, don’t assume that a ‘medium’ length means any old standard bolt will do: ensure you have the highest quality materials, finish and machining to ensure the thread is robust and the fastening strong.
