Alocrom 1200
Alocrom 1200 is a chromate conversion coating chemically applied to aluminium. The coating provides corrosion protection. It is also applied prior to painting or powder coating, and is used when protection and/or electrical conductivity is required.

The contact electrical resistance is less than 5000 micro-ohms per square inch measured under an applied electrode pressure of 200 pounds per sq inch (MIL-C-5541 method), and is suitable for all types of aluminium alloy including the 2000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 series (also castings and high silicon alloys which can be problematical to anodise).

It can be used on aluminium wherever maximum corrosion resistance is required, and is suitable for articles which are to be painted or left unpainted.
